After 7 Years Sumit Nagal Became the First Indian to Reach the US Open

The wait from 7 years is ended now. After Somdev Devvarman, no Indian has reached the second round of the US Open or any other Grand Slam in the world. The country’s tennis court is proud of Sumit Nagal’s achievement.

Despite losing the first game against legend Roger Federer in the last format of the tournament, tennis fans are hopeful that the Indian star, who won the first set of the match, will do something great this time.

Easy win in the first two sets:

Sumit Nagal played against American Bradley Callahan in the first round of the US Open. The first two sets of the match were won by the world’s 124th Indian tennis star. Sumit used his great forehand, backhand and down the line as a tool to practically blow away the opponent in the game by 6-1, 6-3.

Come back defeated in the second set:

Sumit won the set and the match in a 6-1 game by breaking Bradley’s service one after another.

8 years later:

Not just the US Open, Sumit Nagal is the only Indian to reach the second round of a Grand Slam singles division after seven years. The last time in 2013 Somdev Devvarman of Tripura has reached the second round of the US Open.

Tennis court immersed in Sumit:

Sumit Nagal was knocked out of the first round of the last US Open after losing to legend Roger Federer. However, the fight of the Indian star in that match was appreciated in the tennis court. Sumit also won the first set of the match against Roger. The country’s tennis community is expecting more from him in this edition of the tournament.
