The Indian user who uses Alexa now can experience top Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan’s voice on their Alexa device like Echo device, Fire TV, Alexa app, Amazon shopping app (Android) and other Alexa-enabled devices. But for that, you have to wait for the next year 2021.
With the partnership with 77 years old actor, Amitabh Bachchan Amazon announced that he is going to be the first Indian celebrity voice on Alexa. With Amitabh Bachchan’s voice, you can experience Alexa jokes, weather, advice, Shayari (Urdu poetry), motivational quotes, and more.
According to this Amitabh Bachchan said, “Technology has always given me an opportunity to adapt to a new form,” Bachchan said in a mailed statement. “Be it in movies, TV shows, podcasts, and now, I am excited to create this voice experience in partnership with Amazon and Alexa. With voice technology, we are building something to engage more effectively with my audience and well-wishers.”
The Amazon Alexa team will work closely with Mr. Bachchan to capture the iconic voice from the Shehenshah of Bollywood and deliver a unique voice experience to customers. It’s will be a paid experience which will be lunch on 2021, but Amazon says you can get a taste of what it sounds like by saying this into any Alexa-enabled device: “Alexa, say hello to Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.”
Amazon India’s Alexa experiences leader Puneesh Kumar said: “Mr. Bachchan’s voice is truly memorable for any Indian who has grown-up with Bollywood. This combination delivers a perfect pitch to further delight and simplifies the lives of our customers. We are excited to see how our customers will respond when they use Alexa and hear his voice.”
According to Amazon India, provided demo suggests that Bachchan will speak in Hindi. It’s unclear if Bachchan will also speak in English.
