The long wait for the corona vaccine is coming to an end soon. But now a question in everyone’s mind, what will be the price of the corona vaccine? How long will the covid-19 vaccine to reach general public in India?
The Pune’s Serum Institute of India is testing the corona vaccine with AstraZeneca oxford covid-19 vaccine together in India. Adar Punawala, CEO of the company, said the vaccine would cost between Rs 500 and Rs 600 in India.
In an interview, Punawala said that in the first quarter of 2021, 30 to 40 crores doses of the Oxford Covid-19 vaccine will be released. According to Punawala, general people have to pay five to six hundred rupees for this vaccine.
He said the vaccine would be given to the Indian government at a cheaper price. The CEO of Siram Institute said that India is their priority. On the other way, the US pharmaceutical company Modernna claimed on Monday that their Covid-19 vaccine is 95.5 percent effective.
Earlier, Pfizer and Biotech had made similar demands on behalf of the United States and Germany. The dosage of the vaccine may start in December after claims that the third phase of testing of both vaccines has yielded good results and approval from the regulatory body.
On the one side, companies like Modernna and Pfizer-Biotech have announced that the results of the third phase test have been successful on a large scale. On the other side, there are 10 possible vaccines that are in the final stages of testing. A neutral panel monitoring Pfizer’s vaccine says it has found that the vaccine is 90 percent effective in preventing Covid-19.
Similar research has been done on Moderna vaccines. It says the vaccine is 94.5 percent effective. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, vaccines must be at least 50 percent effective to approved. In that case, regulatory approval of both vaccines is practically certain. So far no security concerns have been raised in the test. The two companies will apply for urgent approval.
In India, there is a problem with the preservation of the Pfizer vaccine. The Pfizer vaccine should be stored at a temperature of minus 70 degrees. It can also be kept in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. The second dose should be taken after 3 weeks.
Moderna vaccineare considered favorable in India. In this case, the temperature for storage and distribution is minus 20 degrees. Can be kept at refrigerator temperature for up to 30 days. Can be kept at room temperature for up to 12 hours. The second dose should be taken after 4 weeks from first dose.
