Sydney: After losing the first match by 66 runs, India will face Australia again in the second match of the ODI series on Sunday. Virat Kohli will have to win to keep the three-match ODI series alive. Let’s see what the first eleven of the two teams will be like in the second match of India vs Australia 2nd ODI match.
Despite falling behind against Australia last year, India turned around and won the ODI series 2-1. However, the two main pillars of Australian batting – David Warner and Steve Smith – did not play in that series.
They are playing in this series. And in the first match on Friday, Smith scored a great century. On the other hand, Aussie bowling’s top three weapons – Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins – did not play in the 2019 series. So this time Australia team is much stronger.
The Indian team is also much different than before. There is no Rohit Sharma. Bhubaneswar Kumar is not there. Both have played significant roles in the past. Besides, Hardik Pandya’s inability to bowl is causing problems for Virat Kohli.
Hardik has not yet to start bowling after back surgery. The Indian camp is suffering from lack of pacer-all-rounder. Marcus Stoinis got a muscle injury in the previous match. He could be replaced by either Son Abbott or Cameron Green in the second match.
There is no possibility of a big change in the Indian team. However, Kuldeep Yadav may play in place of Yuzbendra Chahal. Some are also demanding that T Natarajan be replaced by Navdeep Saini, who was beaten in the first match.
However, Chahal and Navdeep, both of whom played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL under Kohli, are also quite trusted by the captain.
