Sharjah: Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma could not play in a few matches in this year’s IPL 2020 due to injury. He was also left out of the Indian squad for the tour of Australia. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly also said that Rohit is injured at the moment. But a few hours later, Rohit surprised everyone by playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Though, he did not perform well in this match. The Mumbai captain was dismissed for just 4 runs. His team also failed to win this match on there last league match.
In an interview with PTI a few hours before the match, Sourav said, “Rohit is injured at the moment. Otherwise, why should we keep a player like him out of the team. He is vice-captain of the national team in the limited overs format. We have to check his fitness. I don’t know when he will return to the team.
He has not been on the field since he was injured. We want him to recover. It is the responsibility of the BCCI to bring back the best players. If he recovers, he will play. ‘
After few hours of this comment of Sourav, Rohit came down to the field. No problems were seen with his fitness. Hopefully, he will also play in the play-off match. As a result, he is likely to be seen in the Indian team for the tour of Australia.
