It has been more than a week since all the teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL) landed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has not yet announced the schedule for the upcoming season.

According to sources, some franchises have ‘requested’ the Indian Cricket Board to announce the schedule ‘quickly’. “God knows when they Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will share the schedule with us.
We have requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) – both orally and through text – to expedite it as we plan accordingly, ”a team source told IANS in the United Arab Emirates. They also added, “Someone said by Monday or Tuesday, we will get it, but can’t confirm it.”

The BCCI has recently met with officials of the Emirates Cricket Board and resolved most of the issues related to the schedule and intercity travel protocol.
The tournament is already under threat as 13 members of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) squad tested positive for coronavirus. Batsman Suresh Raina has also withdrawn from the tournament due to family reasons. The BCCI has issued a notification and confirmed the news without sharing the names of the infected members.

It also objected to some franchises. “We should have known at least about their members, all of whom were infected. For our protection, ”a team source added.

It is pertinent to note that, The 13th edition of the IPL (Indian Premier League) is scheduled to start on 19th September 2020. The final set will be played on 10th November 2020. The for-profit league was originally scheduled for March-May, but had to be postponed due to the covid-19 epidemic.
