Flipkart launched a new Android-based tv streaming app, Nokia Media Streamer for Rs. 3,499. The Nokia Media Streamer runs on Android 9, has a dedicated remote and supports full-HD video streaming as part of Flipkart ‘s branding partnership with Nokia, that also includes smart TVs. This streamer links to the TV via HDMI port and the Internet via Wi-Fi to capture streaming content much like the other common streaming tools, like the Mi TV Stick and the Amazon Fire TV Stick. The Nokia Media Streamer will be eligible on Flipkart on 28 August.

Features & Functions of Nokia Media Streamer

Though it’s listed on Android 9, the Nokia Media Streamer would possibly operate Android TV 9 Pie, Android ‘s smart TV and video streaming operating system for Google. The portable video tool can be delivered in maximum HD quality and features Chromecast and Dolby Audio compatibility. The Nokia Media Streamer remote supports Google Assistant and includes Netflix and Zee5 hotkey systems.

With a 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage, the Nokia Media Streamer has Wi-Fi connectivity for both apps and application data. An unspecified quad-core processor and a Mali 450 GPU power the device. The Amazon Fire TV Stick, typically for a price of Rs. 3,999, is also being offered in this market by Nokia Media Streamer.

Ironically, the remote looks pretty much like Flipkart Turbostream’s MarQ, which has identical features, and which also costs Rs. 3,499. Flipkart revealed the launch of Nokia’s smart TV in India late last year, a promotional agreement with Nokia. More recently a 43-inch TV, priced at Rs. 31,999, was launched from the Nokia brand.
