Cyclone Niver: The severe cyclonic storm Niver hit the southern part of Indian (Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry). The Cyclone Nivar made landfall at around 2.30 am with winds of up to 130 kmph. The cyclone crossed the land Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry between Wednesdays 11.30 A.M. to Thursday 2:30 P.M. According to All India News Agency (ANI) as a cause of the severe storm almost three people peoples are injured and three peoples are killed. According to IMD (India Meteorological Department) the speed of the winds is almost 120 Kmph to 130 kmph.
“There have been three deaths and three people have been injured. One hundred and one huts damaged and 380 fallen trees have been removed. There is a complete restoration of essential services,” said Atulya Mishra (additional chief secretary of Tamil Nadu).
Thursday, the Amit Saha home minister of India spoke to chef minister of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry and give promises for every types of supported from central. And He is continuously monitoring the whole matters. The National Disaster Response Force is ready to take action as soon as the severe cyclonic storm Niver is losing its energy.
“We are closely monitoring the situation in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry in the wake of Cyclone Nivar. Have spoken to CM Shri @EPSTamilNadu and CM Shri @VNarayanasami and assured all possible help from the centre. NDRF teams already on ground to help people in need,” Amit Shah tweeted.
As per last news many trees are uprooted, collapsed many houses lots of electric wares and pols are breaks due to this severe cyclonic storm Niver in several areas of Chennai.
Pondicherry Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy visited different affected areas of the Union territory to assess the damage caused by Cyclone Nivar. And According to CM no causalities were reported.
According to ANI “Heavy rainfall of 23 centimeters in 24 hours was observed. No report of loss of life. We have never seen such torrential rains here. Electricity in the city will be restored within 12 hours,” Said V. Narayanasamy.
