Famous singer SP Balasubrahmanyam has been fighting with Corona since last month. The hospital said his condition was “extremely critical” and he was being held in “the highest life expectancy”.
Balasubrahmanyam is admitted to MGM Healthcare in Chennai. The hospital bulletin says his condition has worsened and he is in the highest life expectancy. The renowned veteran singer, popularly known as SPB, was admitted to the hospital in early August with mild symptoms of corona.
He posted a video on social media at the time, saying he was well. But as the level of oxygen in the body decreased, he was sent to the intensive care unit on 13 August. He has been in life support since then.
He underwent plasma therapy and physiotherapy as his condition improved slightly. But he could not be taken out of the ventilator, there is ECMO or extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support.
SP Balasubrahmanyam’s son, S P Charan, had been frequently releasing information about him. And, as recently as September 19, he had revealed that his father had begun oral intake of food. He said “That should help him grow stronger and take care of other vitals as well,”.
But doctors said yesterday that the SPB’s physical condition had deteriorated further.
