Jetha Lal and his family are the central characters of the Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah The show is based on the columns written by the prominent Indian writer “Taarak Mehta”. The actress of the TV show “Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah” Munmun Dutta who plays the character of “Babita Iyer” is in the limelight nowadays.

A few days back she said something casteist which had hurt the sentiments of a lot of parole. Now there are reports that an FIR has been lodged against Munmun Dutta (Babita Iyer) because of her slang. It seems that she is now in real trouble owing to her irrelevant statement. Actress Munmun Dutta was live on her Instagram and telling her fans about her make-up routine, in the middle of the live session she used a defamatory word unknowingly which eventually landed her into trouble. The controversy started when Munmun Dutta came live on her Instagram handle to interact with her fans. While she was live on her Instagram, she said something bad to a particular caste of India which eventually dropped into trouble. People are getting agitated because of her statement on a particular section of the population.

She used a word to define her unusual, and that word is monikered to a particular caste of Indian society. Fans as well as a large section of internet users found her statement irrational and started a protest against her on social media in just twenty-four hours. #ArrestMunmunDutta was trending on Twitter and people started demanding the arrest of actress Munmun Dutta. Today it has been reported that an FIR registered has been registered against Munmun Dutta under SC/ST act at Hansi in Haryana. After the news of FIR came into the limelight, a lot of news and statements floating on social medial about the arrest of Munmun Dutta. The video in which Munmun Dutta used a casteist word has gone viral on social media and getting a large number of views. Furthermore, an FIR was also registered in Mumbai against actress Munmun Dutta because of her defamatory statement against a particular caste.

Eventually, Actress Munmun Dutta has been charged under IPC sections 295(A) (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and section 3 of the Prevention of Atrocities against SC/ST Act. A lot of FIR is being registered against actress Munmun Dutta from different parts of India. Later on, Actress Munmun Dutta released a statement on her social media handles. In the statement, she was apologizing for her mistake and told she is sorry for using a word that has hurt the sentiments of people. Owing to the language barrier she was unknown to the real meaning of the word which she had used mistakenly. Furthermore, actress Munmun Dutta said that the word uttered by her while being live on her Instagram was misunderstood by her, she didn’t know that the word could hurt the emotions and sentiment of people.

She also revealed that she had no intention to hurt or insult a particular group of our country, it was said only in a misunderstood manner. Owing to the language barrier she mistakenly said something, and after knowing the true meaning of that she removed that part of the live session as fast as she can. Actress Munmun Dutta also posted an apology letter on her official Twitter handle in which she was saying that she is sincerely sorry for what she had said on her social media handle while being live with fans. She apologizes to every person who got hurt by her statement. The word I have used mistakenly was unintentional and it wasn’t meant to cause any defame to any individual or a caste group.  A lot of people are in support of Munmun Dutta and saying that whatever the actress said in her live session, she was unaware of the real meaning of that word.

She must be pardoned for her mistake. While there are other groups of people who are demanding the fast arrest of the actress Munmun Dutta and protesting against her on social media channels. For now, we don’t know where it will end eventually. Whether the actress of Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah will land in jail or she will be pardoned. Actors and influencing artists are those people who create an impact on their fans and viewers. We tend to think that their reality would be the same as their reel life. But this is just the opposite of our perception. They are also human and they also made mistakes. We must not hope from them a lot. These people are also humans like us. They also have a life as we have. Sometimes they disclose or utter something means/casteist which jolt our mind and we started thinking how they can say that.

But the thing is they are actors, what role they play onscreen is different from their real life. Actors and those people who create a great impact on people must have to be careful what they are saying on their social media handles. Their statement can cause a lot of damage to the sentiment of the people who follow them. Their rotten statement can cause religious or social upsurge and can it can eventually hamper their security.  People idolize these actors and tend to believe that these people are an example of epitome truthfulness. This is wrong and needs to change. We must have to realize they are mere Actors, who are meant to play a role in a show or movie.
