UFC 293: Adesanya vs. Strickland
UFC 293 will feature two of the most famous names (and the biggest mouths) in mixed martial arts. Israel Adesanya is set to defend his middleweight title against Sean Strickland. They will headline the fight however, who else will fight for the title in UFC 293? This article will provide all the information that you should know about the major PPV event.
Israel Adesanya will kick off his second stint in the role of UFC middleweight champ when he faces the #5-ranked Sean Strickland in the card’s main event.
“The Last Stylebender” was hoping to get to meet Dricus Du Plessis Australia after the two had an intense battle during UFC 290, but with the South African unavailable for this fight, Strickland is now attempting to become a spoiler for his first shot to win UFC gold.
The main event of the night will see fan-favorite Tai Tuivasa attempt to snap the two-fight skid that has seen her lose twice in a heavyweight fight against Alexander Volkov.
“Drago” has finished his two opponents in the first round, and even though he’s not been stopped by strikes since the year 2018, he’ll need to be ready for the chances of Tuivasa to score an impressive knockout in his country of birth.
Manel Kape, a former UFC fighter is scheduled to also welcome Felipe dos Santos to the UFC in their main card flyweight match. Justin Tafa will run things back to Austen Lane after their meeting in June came to an end because of an eye poke. Tyson Pedro will kick off the main card when he faces Anton Turkalj in a light heavyweight bout.
Shane Young was the only fighter to not weigh in prior to the event. The featherweight fight will go on according to plan, while his rival Gabriel Miranda receiving 30 percent of the purse.
